Round bales per roll of wrap.

Could someone tell me how many bales of silage a roll of wrap will cover? The bales are getting six layers of wrap and the baler is a John Deere C441R. I think it is 20 bales per roll at 6 layers, but I am open to correction! Thank you in advance.

We get approx 24 per roll of 750mm. 22 turns on our Kuhn wrapper for 120cm round bales. In fairness when manually watching it does look like it's completely wrapped at 7 turns, so in theory 21 is enough but 22 covers slightly larger bales I guess.

The bale may look covered with 7 turns but there is only one layer on at the 7th turn so it takes another turn to give it all 2 layers

Yes know what you are saying. Usually the 7th turn is covering a tiny slice of bale showing. Kuhn box comes preset, when you change bale size it does rest itself, so never questioned it!

Its confusing, our McHale 991 hi speed actually does 12 turns if you set it on 11,so thats what i use for 6 layers of wrap,so thats 24 (2 dispensors)

We get 24 bales from a roll on our kverneland wrapper. Around 22 bales from the satellite on our jd combibaler. Both 22 turns to cover the bale.

A 1.25m bale will have a circumference of 3.92m. Quality wrap necks down to around 62cm so in theory needs just 12.7 turns to apply 4 layers or 19 turns for 6 layers given exactly 50% overlap. Just shows you how efficient various wrappers can be with the plastic hey
