Wouldn’t be hard to set up an endless chain ready just in case.

Aye, have a tractor ready just in case ....but I still think you would bash on and chance it most of the time till the time you were in trouble!

He’s a farmers son- set up a workshop on farm and still farms as well. Worked at the new Gamic while learning his trade I believe.

I’ve been looking at those for a while. Putting a new system in, I’d far sooner put something like that in, than ever I would a conventional dipping bath. A no-brainer imo.
Fairly simple to rig up a secondary lifting rig, if you’re concerned about the main unit failing.
I have noticed that Son shearing trailers from Northern Ireland are doing them as well as well as mobile plunge dippers, The shearing trailer they make is very well made to be fair, quite a few around this way. I wonder how much these cage dippers are? Its a one man dipper ticks all the boxes for me for a start

Gamic have made a few cage dippers too I think, including at least one on a local contractor’s lorry.
Not sure how long it would take them, but the one I saw there (on a lorry) looked a tidy job.

Do you not have a lid on it, and dunk them under with a crook instead? Safer like that I guess.
Do they still run into happily enough after they’ve been through it a few times previous?

Only used it for first time last autumn so time will tell ! ?
Had an issue at first when there was excess play in the cage and they stood shy of stepping into it but once we had sorted that they ran on ok

Not finalised a lid and had small concerns over breakdown ( highly unlikely but not impossible) so have used a crook and with good access around outside it works fine.
