Spreading urea

Been advised by my agronomist that I should be spreading sulfur either separately or with my fertiliser, is it worth the extra money? Will I see any benefits? He says it’s worth it and he’s not one to talk crap. Will be used on grassland for silage, thanks

Grass responds very well to sulphur as I understand it. I use it every other year or so on my Hay crops.

What soil type are you on ,but you can test the forage to see of its needing sulpher

Little and often is better as it leaches out

Grass will definitely benefit from sulphur. Use a sulphur containing fertiliser throughout the season, most slurries and manures will also contain sulphur but quantities will vary.

Acid rain or the lack of it is the reason its needed , it was so bad here it used to stunt the fir trees

Definitely consider it, especially on silage ground at the start of the season.

Better N uptake, more growth, better protein %.

mainly heavy land, but also have some sandy ish light soil land aswell
