In '86 there wasn't a car park, you could just drive anywhere on the beach and cars with water in the headlights were quite common in spring tides.. Rank introduced the gates, locks etc when they bought the campsite further up the coast. There was still one old lady left living in the dunes at that time too, security from the campsite gave her a hard time too. RIP Lottie.Crazy place Talacre. Not so long ago two horses got stuck in deep mud and the whole area was gridlocked with traffic. On an other occasion the council workers left the access gate to the beach carpark unlocked, with a very high tide due, and people returned to their cars to find them up to their radiator grills in sea water.
