Sturgeon Resigning

It was pretty obvious she'd run out of steam. The whole movement has. It'll be interesting to see who takes over, there are no obvious candidates. Kate Forbes would be my choice she seems quite sensible but she's just had a baby. Fergus Ewing would be the dream but he's fallen well out of favour with the teenage element of the SNP.

Obviously I'm a unionist, but I've a few friends and family in Scotland who want independence, and they've been pulling their hair out regarding the SNP's dafly lefty / woke agenda. They think it's turned off / p!ssed off any number of people who might have otherwise voted SNP, and she's been the poster-girl for it.

Successor...? I think it should be Hamza Yousaf. 😐

If Humza becomes FM, that will be the final nail in the coffin for independence.

HUMZA FOR FIRST MINISTER

Said it before, a lot of the snp voters are actually quite Conservative with their views. I know plenty who are anti immigration, pro North sea oil and hated the gender reform act.

Sturgeon did have a good following with her supporters, jumping into bed with the greens has been her downfall, can't see anyone else in the SNP fill her shoes, just wonder how much dirt is about to surface,I would think independence is dead for now.

This is not a day for (intelligent) unionists to celebrate.
I've said for quite some time that Nicola is a difficult character to warm to regardless of your stance on Scottish Nationalism, if she happens to be replaced by an appealing charismatic type it could cause an independent Scotland to become a lot more trendy in time to come.
