It's been so wet I've cut miles of footpath tracks this last week with the hedger around farms.
The amount of litter and dog sh!t bags is unbelievable, it never used to be that bad.
What on earth is happening to this country?
It’s turning into America.
Years ago I flew into Vancouver, where my aunt picked me up to drive South into Washington State. Canada was spotless, the Canadians taking real pride in their country, while the rubbish was piled up against the USA border side. Obviously all Americans aren’t like this, but you get my drift.

This year i have found more litter than ever in roadside hedges,it gets more every year, more people everywhere, more houses in countryside, carriers chuck they bits out down on lanes, when delivering to the other houses on the lane, few seem to care, locals on dog walks seem to walk past it, oblivious to it ,if i don,t pick stuff up ,nobody else does. What a state this country has become.

Contempt for the planet

Greed for the latest gadget

Disrespect for corrupt authority

Why bother tidying after yourself and appreciating what you have, when everything you read, watch, and are told encourages belief that it should and could be better?

And buying the latest disposable 68" flat screen/holiday/fast food burger proves that you're a success?

It's how marketing has moulded society, and there's no going back until there's a lot put up against the wall come the revolution!!!! 💣

we had plumbers fitting a new boiler in the bungalow, after they had finished, I found they had been hoofing their take away coffee cups out of the window of the van, wish I had seen them do it at the time.

Put up signs mentioning the use of covert CCTV to detect litterers and that you'll kick any offenders in the shins. Twice?

Of all the farm and countryside I have ever been in I have never thrown or dropped a piece of litter. I wince just throwing an apple core in the hedge.
it is also farmers as well, have a look at the plastic in the photo for the £75 000 fine for farmer grazing an SSSI, or people feeding silage bales and not bothering to remove the string, just letting the cattle eat round or through it.

It seems common place. I’m building a self build at the moment using subcontractors and nearly every one has just disposed of their food and drink packaging wherever they were when they finished with it despite waste disposal facilities on site. I find my weekends spent clearing up after them. If you challenge them they won’t work for you so all you can do is accept it and tidy up afterwards. People seem to have lost respect for others

what a nation with have become? all of us far more "better off" than our foebears, but but, no pride no sham? no respect? do we as a nation just now accept this? what would happens say, just take one problem litter and littering, if no one picked up any litter dumped or dropped in the urban or countryside for a year? what would it be, look like? My answer is either one just go on accepting, peoples ( us including me) declineing morals standards of behaviour etc etc, or two, led from the govt, an all out attack on social "behaviour" from naming and shaming individuals, teaching children at school, imposing massive fines on indivduals and companies caught to book on "ant i social" behaviour such as littering, at the same time bringing in laws with consultation with companies such as drive through fast food outlets, supermarkets and plastic manufacturers of bottles, wrapping etc etc, how we can change change the problem, plastic has to be massively reduced by finding alternatives that if dumped or littered or just find itself into the invironment such as the waterways and eventually the seas and oceans will naturally degrade into a "harmless" product?

More wealth meaning more arrogance.

They probably have a nice house and garden but to hell with other people.

Up until 10 years ago we used to move sheep a short distance on a busy A road, was just thinking recently we'd never do that now. half of them would run you and your dog over with their suv in their mad hurry to get nowhere to do nothing

Exactly the same, we used to run big groups through the village maybe 15yrs ago. Everything goes in the box now.
