TV Licence a.k.a. the BBC tax - no, not again.

Due to my age, I was given a free tv licence last year, but now have to start paying again. I don't mind really as, althrough there is a lot of dross on the BBC, for all the Freeview conent one gets, it's better than the alternatives.

I don't want to pay for anything else. When discussing the recently finished American Open tennis with my daughter, she offered me her Amazon Prime log in and we watched some of the Cameron Norrie match. I took the oportunity later to look at the other content available. It seemed to me to be all American films and some sport. I always refuse to watch any American films or tv programs, as they can't speak english. I have no interest in any of the team sports.

Paying the licence fee gets me all the broadcasting that I need.

I just paid by monthly DD after having been free for nine months. I thought I would make them work for their money. I see that Lineker has had a pay cut but is still the highest paid TV presenter. Not bad when they hardly show any live football other than ladies and he doesn`t seem to bother with that.

Friggin ladies is better to watch, less kissing and crying than the 'men's' game.
