Perhaps as is the case with the p2p lenders somebody didn't make the connection,if he's got a clean credit record and no alarm bells ring, why dig deeper. If they do get their money back, they will be the first, and I doubt it will be without a considerable first.
Very curious about the re-mortgage with Barclays though.
Would have thought once bitten twice shy, but then he knows where the bodies are buried I suppose.
For purpose of absolute clarity. If you ever fall into the trap of giving Phillips the benefit of any doubt you can rest assured he will repay you in an unsavoury manner and he uses a very big stick.Rather ,protracted discussion about the borrower in the peer to peer forum, speculation about whether or not they might get their money back but some people want to give poor old chap the benefit of the doubt
Putting together a very impressive CV,last I heard he was at Milsted Langdon.Just needs a spell working in a High street bank recoveries unit to become the finished item, the heir apparentFor purpose of absolute clarity. I occasionally see reference to son Victor and of course there is another son. I cast no aspersions, it is in the public domain the other son is in the employ of non other than Grant Thornton.
Linkedin is very useful at times.

Perfectly fair I thought, hopefully Saving Stream and their investors won't see it as overly bad publicity, todays news, tomorrows chip paper and all that.We can only expect them to say what they have, after all they owe their investors every chance to either sell out of this investment or recover their investment in 70 odd days time.If they do experience problems then that is the time to let rip and admit that they too were had.Good old James Hurley good article straight to point usual !
That,or they're telling Waitrose porkies,I think you might be able to spot the pig arcs on google earth.Waitrose only have outdoor pigs, so they should be quite easily spotted, plus Des running round feeding them!
Victor didn't last long, maybe it was too much for him and Daddy has had to take over. Seems to prove not only has Karen got a brass neck, she has more balls than her brother as well by the looks of it.Or Karen, or even Duncan, some good ol fresh air for them!
Or they are telling Saving Stream porkies. That,or they're telling Waitrose porkies,I think you might be able to spot the pig arcs on google earth.
Well they must have had legal advice,or thats what's levelled at us.Perhaps the solicitors in this case knew just a bit more than they were letting on,especially as NFU panel solicitors, who'd been recommended to fight against Phillips.Or they are telling Saving Stream porkies.
It all puts a different complexion on his farming victims. No wonder he was able to mislead (or defraud) us, if he was able to fool fellow "financial professionals".
Maybe we weren't such fools after all.
But surely since they, as N.F.U. Solicitors reached the conclusion that they did in the case against Phillips, and this occuring in the same period of time as acting for Phillips in securing these loans, was there not a conflict of interest in which Phillips prevailed? Yet another example of incestuous symbiosis at play!!!Well they must have had legal advice,or thats what's levelled at us.Perhaps the solicitors in this case knew just a bit more than they were letting on,especially as NFU panel solicitors, who'd been recommended to fight against Phillips.
Mind you, anything that comes out of that part of the world is covered with that thick professional scum that makes it rather hard to get to the facts.
