UK Dairy Day

It's not an arable show, some people have cows to milk before they can get away.

Bet the NFU didn't have a pims o'clock like they do at cereals 🙄🤣
I actually asked a few of the exhibitors if it's visitors close to the locality being a one day show but I've been told plenty from Cumbria and Devon there . I thought many of the aisles got busy from 11am and plenty there at 8am too. Easy parking, no registration bull , full halls of exhibitors. Just nice to see a proper live event again and being successful

The arable shows are nothing like this levels of busy. Was nice to see things getting back to normal. Not sure about the NFU stand.
Quite a few folks just sitting on the NFU stand. The DEFRA stand on the Upper Concourse were looking for opinion giving stakeholders to "shape" future policy. Gave my opinion / experience about FAnGR and the livestock transport "consultation" fait accomplis

The QR code on the flyer takes you to the form to submit your details to register for future feedback but then corrupts before saving / registering you (maybe they got the new livestock ID company to do it)

Read in the Times yesterday that DEFRA are having serious problems engaging with farmers.
They were looking for 10,000 to express an interest in trialling their sustainable farming initiative so they could cherry pick but only got 2000 or so out of 44,000 English farmers.

We got there around 11.30 queuing to park on the rugby ground but passed a few people carrying their goodies bags obviously leaving.
First time we have been and quite enjoyed it, saw what we wanted to see and spoke to who we needed to speak to.

20,000 are already in a CSS agreement so can't apply anyway!

I think they’ll struggle personally, lots of farmers had their fill of jumping through hoops and by the sounds of it the moneys not going to make it worth their while.

I know of two sheep farmers near here who’s agreements have ended and they’re restocking.
