Fellow near here had a mountain of parts for the early models, picked them all up for a song, I stored a few pallets for a short while, mainly clutches, starters, radiators and alternators.

Think recently they were producing a modern enough tractor but obviously sales wasnt enough to keep the doors open
I think its a bit like the old adage i would rather be seen getting out the back of a sheep than a zetor/Ursus in the early eighties they were cheap and robust but didn't have the cred of a ford or Massey but if truth be told they were a lot better a good solid workhorse yes the brakes were a bit if and the cooling fan was weak bust just think I bought an eighty horse tractor for less than six grand in1980 they wanted more than that for a ford four thou second hand

There were MF 200 series based tractors in the 80s and 90s and maybe longer(think the Duck had or has one) but also the Zetor Crystal equivalents as well. Not as well built as the Zetor though.

When i first came to Kenya i bought 20 MF 261 tractors which were built by Ursus in Poland they were a MF 265 they also sold a 231 which was a sort of MF 240. They were a fair tractor.

having had both I can't say there was any difference apart from the way the doors were hung the Zetor had an earlier dealer set up and they put it about the Ursus was an inferior brand in the twelve years I ran an Ursus i can't say it gave me much trouble unlike the Leyland I had before with its interbridge cracking and P T O gear not to mention the balls on the lift arms falling apart not to mention the ford six six-ten with its Rubick cube gearbox it was easier to find the g spot than the green spot for starting and of course the porous block it took me till the nineties to find a better tractor in the Maxum plus I just wish I had gone for the next one up with aircon
