Heard thru the grape vine India was supposed to be buying land in western Canada to supposedly give them food security. Not nice to say but I see Canada going the same route as the uk did. Majority of fast food ,gas stations, and corner shops are owned by East Indians. They are also taking over the trucking industry with imported drivers driving for cheap. Have an East Indian family that lives next to my farthest field. when seeding there he came and introduced himself. Turns out he was from the uk but saw a life for his family in Canada.
making foreign ownership of Property is only good for local buyers of farmland Must be millions of factories worldwide with foreign ownership

Syngenta have a place in Lincolnshire and rent land all around Horncastle for trials and seed breeding. They also have a place in Cambridgeshire too.
The one near us was New Farm Crops but taken over years ago but bred many good malting spring barley varieties.

They've got a sizeable site up in Berkshire as well.

They're currently attempting to blackmail the local authority with threats of "if you don't let us build 2,000 houses on some of the land we own here we'll not be building the new research labs and the jobs will go elsewhere" .

Yes, when we were over in 2016 we were surprised by the amount of Asians in the (remote?) parts.
