30 year old lamb scales weren't working properly anymore after I had tried tinkering and modify/bodge . lots of rust and some stabilizer bits had rotted off on the bottom. Made £250 at a auction

Someone bought it .
Mine's a Lely optimo mower , sold it spares or repair for 99p , it made £723 . I felt guilty for a while.
If he got it going he's a cleverer man than me

Went onto do 100s of acres for many more years... Was laughing when he brought it back.

Just talking generally Sunderlands held 2 online farm sales a couple of weeks ago . What the stuff made was unbelievable . An IH b47 baler that was seized up and probably never work again ...£1200

I had an old 3 furrow IH plough I bought for £25 in a farm sale to plough a few fields, only got used twice and sat in nettles.
I was going to throw it in the scrap.
Young lad here doing a bit of work wanted it to go behind his restored IH tractor, I sold it to him for scrap value.
Got inquisitive and googled it, only one I could find was for sale for £800.
No regrets as it was better than scrapping it!

I washed and laid all the kit out for a local farm sale around 25 years ago and the guy had a old wag tail fert spreader sat unused for several years in the nettles that I steam cleaned off and put in his line up and it made all but as much as it’s replacement that sold well.

Not machinery, but a load of old rubber cubicle mats. Taken out as they got terribly slippery and was going to skip them.

Took them to a local collective sale where they made £20 per mat. Couldn't believe it!
