Whats wrong with this spring wheat?

Hi,

Picture below from my spring wheat drilled 9th and 10th of May. The field has had 2-3 mm of rain last 5-6 weeks, very dry. I adjusted the depth of the fert this year as i thought it was a bit deep. Could it be that its now too shallow, and the plants cant really get it without water? On the headlands where i overlapped it looks better. Poor tillering and growth in the yellow plants. Or can it be namatodes? Cant really see the clear symptoms of that in the roots. Any hopes for fields like this when/if the rain eventually comes?

The darker wheelings would suggest Mn deficiency, what is the soil type? When was it last limed? Is there a history of Mn deficiency in the field? What was the pre-em? Could it have been drilled too deep?

Clay, not too heavy. Was limed with 200 kg/dunam (think its called that, 1000 square meters) in february and same in february 2022. pH is about 6. No pre-em here, never seen anyone do it actually. I think the seed is pretty uniformly drilled at 3 cm, and it emerged evenly - but i suspect the fert is at 3-4 cm as well, outside of reach if no rain comes to wash it down :(

If it was too shallow the nitrogen would have gotten there regardless. Even top dressing does even without rain. Sure you had fertilizer rate right?

Yea, 55 kg/1000 square meters, same as every spring - might be the type of wheat, as this is a first, but still weird that it looks so pale and no tillering.
