Recommendation for a decent head torch please?

The cheap & chearfull don't last, so looking for something a bit more robust :
1. Must have a lock so doesn't switch on in pocket.
2. Full & half power is handy
3. Red light is handy but not essential

Tank you

I use a Petzl Actik head torch virtually every day. Had the same one for 6-8 years without any issues. Way smalller and lighter than anything you've got. Wouldn't buy anything else. Has all you want plus USB charging which is really handy. Use phone charger once a month (ish) to charge it. Easier than messing about charging batteries.
which model do you have please?
just googled it and there is aw 19,aw20 etc?
thanks

LED Lenser I used when I used to be thundering around in the dark doing oils and waters on 60 Vehicles. USB charge on the way home way in. Million times better than any look good cheap stuff.

Had a few Lensers over the years..

For me, it should use a single AA, not lots of silly AAA cells. It should also have a simple on/off switch, I am fed up with having to go through lots of useless modes when trying to switch on or off with numb fingers. My Zebralight fulfills the first, but only partly the second condition. It cost me over £30, but I see they are at least twice that now. I have had it 5 years now, so no complaints there, and in winter it is permanently in my pocket

Milwaukee makes some great rechargeable head lamps. Easily adjusted amount and type of beam of light broadcast. About $65 with tax so some might consider them to be a bit pricy. If your using them a lot they are well worth every penny.

The clu lite ones are very good. Mine has lasted years. The rechargeable one is better than the one that takes AA batteries. I have also just bought one made by Silva that hasn't broke the bank which is supposed to be decent as well. I don't suppose it will be as rugged as the clulite one which gets used in all weathers and situations. They really earn their keep when you are moving sheep away from flood waters in the middle of winter.

These are actually getting good reviews, and is what I am going to be getting. This site gives you a free torch too, so the frugal ones may like that 😁

I got 2 of these good lights in certain conditions
But maybe mine are a bit faulty as when wearing in the rain you can see the raindrops in like a strobe effect
Same when using rotating machines
You cant see any flicker with your eyes until theres something fast moving
This has reminded me theres a few years warranty on them so think I'll call them
