Which head torch?

I've two of these, one for the workshop and another for general use about the place, excellent for foot trimming indoors.

Very robust as they're sold as workshop equipment, and excellent light. Good enough even to check sheep at dark if required.

Fortunately I get them via the motor trade so they're considerably easier bought than this but looking at what else is available they're probably still worth that price.

Have a couple of Petzl TacTikka+ here, 3 brightness settings, the highest lights up the yard.
Takes 3xAAA rechargeable batteries, and have only a single headband strap.
Both features are important, full head harnesses are uncomfortable and are PiA when they stretch a bit; and rechargeable lamps always fail to charge via USB port or don't hold charge at all after a while.

+1 for these. Rechargeable batteries are a must coz it gets expensive buying AAA’s all the time.

Maybe the cheap crappy ones.

My oldest one (JMP as above) is 3+ yr old now, no sign of charging problems and any decline in battery life is little enough not to be noticeable.

There's no reason for either of these things to be problematic other than poor quality manufacture.
