We have approximately 1500 square meters of lawn to cut, currently have a 21" Honda izy that has been a good mower but is past its best, so is there any other make of mower we should look at or do i just replace it with the same again?

Etesia! Can’t beat them. Look for a pro51k 21” cut on eBay blade clutch variable walk speed settings, and will mow wet grass and collect. Councils run them as they’re ally decks and last forever!

Izzy is a bit lightweight in my opinion. Not a bad machine but only domestic spec.
ive just sold a load of commercial spec Honda HRH536. Big heavy cast alloy deck. The tools Royce of mowers.

The 536HRH is the daddy - they are heavy to use, but are heavy for a reason - the Etasia would be a close 2nd but lack the horsepower in wet / long grass.

The Honda Izzy is nothing but a very domestic spec machine

I'd second this, my mother has an Etesia, it was second hand 15 years ago, and still runs perfectly. Massive central grass shute which means it can deal with damp grass well.

1500sqm is ride on terrority nearly??!, that's roughly what I have around my house and was taking me an hour n twenty wit a self drive hayter 22 inch collecting the grass.
This year opted for a 36" castle garden and has halfed the time but can still get into corners n what not reasonably well.
Don't think the wee mower would stand up to bouncing thru fields all day every day kind of cutting, but should last a long time snipping of the bit of grass once a fortnight in me garden

I have a little 17 inch mountfield which I mow over half an acre with, do 3.25 miles walking behind it. Takes me 3 hours and neighbours think I am mad. I am really as I have an out front Husky in the garage, but the walk does me good and saves gym membership ;)
I bought it as a spare, second hand 5 years ago when the big one had a problem now I realise the damage the ride on does making tramlines in the lawn
just about to upgrade it for a proper cylinder mower.

Ariens are good walk behinds. Proper American built for commercial market and a beautifully simple variable speed drive.
All the American made machines are brilliant.
these are my current favourites. Great Dane stand on and a bad boy!!

Can I help your fitness regime and borrow your Husky sometimes?

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
