Who do you insure with?

Think we want to change insurers so just wondering who you guys are using and how are you getting on with them? The NFU have started to turn down claims with poor justification.

Acres are the new team on the block. Formed from a lot of ex-nfu who weren’t happy or pushed out.

I had a good chat with them at Cereals. Have the policies to back it up too from what I heard. Let us know how you get on.

Tried various over the years. Never had an issue with NFU Mutual paying out. Currently back with NFU Mutual due to a great local agent and very pleased with the service and price. Just hope head office don't jump the premiums come renewal.

If you get a good loss adjuster that makes a big difference.

How many claims are you making ?
Insurance is there for the misfortunes that you can't afford to cover under normal business conditions.
Every body puts their share in the pot to help those who suffer misfortune, expecting help when they suffer.
If you are claiming on a regular basis you are not acting in the spirit of the scheme and are being unfair on the other premium payers.

Are Acres not just brokers ?

In terms of service I can wholeheartedly recommend @Kimberley from Grosvenor Insurance Brokers, really personable and puts the effort in.

Not had to make a claim yet which I suppose is the proof, but very happy so far.

I had insured with the NFU for over 30 years but when I had something oddball they wouldn’t even drive 15 miles to have a look before flatly refusing to insure. Kimberley drove from Cheshire, getting on 100 miles maybe, spent three hours with us and took all the details to quote.

Not the cheapest, but that’s not always the point.

when I had a problem, nfu didn't want to know, been with towergate for years, but local chap left, his replacement can't even get our quote right, and its not complicated, nearly 3 months into year now, and I hope its sorted

I left the NFU after they reduced my claim after agreement with the loss adjuster, I’m now with Greenlands.

Cornish Mutual---my experience is competitive rates (cheaper than NF) easy to deal with and quick to sort claims
COOP were good at one time as were AVIVA ---shop around

I use farmers and mercantile .
I would reiterate what was said above though, insurers aren’t there to pay all your maintenance bills !

NFU Mutual here for machinery. Aon for the rest including employer's liability etc. NFUM have been good so far though a claim I started in March hasn't been paid yet though I keep adding to it. When I had my GPS receivers nicked they were pretty good and settled it quickly.

We get quotes annually & NFUM have been the best so far. It's a big fleet policy with 30+ items on it.
