Who do you insure with?

Is anyone finding NFUM dropping their price at the first sign of healthy competition? Shouldn’t they give that rate to all of their customers not just the ones who get quotes?

Few things annoy me more than that kind of practice - They are basically admitting that they were trying to rip you off !

First price best price is my policy - I will never come back running an auction !

Moved from NFU to F&M 3 years ago and HALVED what we wee paying - have been very happy with their cover (actually better than NFU) and service and they have paid out when required with no issues

Just up for renewal and thought I would give Acres a try - the advertising on the forum, a lot of their team, is ex NFU and F&M including the man who started F&M originally. I have the quote and it looks like big saving again ..................... the kids will get Christmas presents after all ! :)
who would have thought that. ;)

Weatherbys Hamilton here

Changed from NFU
Made a saving...
Made a claim on the JCB...

Happy enough here, tbh it's a cost that should be routinely reviewed every 3-4 years

Swapped to WH a few years back from NFUM. Did two years with them but the price kept hiking.

Went back to NFUM and was cheaper than ever despite increased cover. A year on and a renewal had no price increase either.

I has F and M round , ended up wanting more than the NFU ,. Split everything up and reduced big time.
All through a broker , well about 3 brokers . pita but it's big savings .
Plus I've never claimed in 15 years .

I think the key is loyalty does not pay just like utilities these days so whoever you insure with shopping around will likely bring a saving
I meant who would have thought the owner, and influencer, of the forum, would’ve got a very good quote from an advertiser of said forum. Good luck to you though,I’d do the same (y)

Yep, that's exactly why it's worth shopping around every few years ?

A lot of farms don't as they are afraid of issues with claiming thinking NFUM are untouchable in service, but in reality not...

Have shopped around this year and stayed with NFU .F and M and JELF couldn’t beat them.
Happy with NFU Mutual service but as said above if I didn’t keep an eye on premiums and shop around they’d have my pants down, as they all would!!!

Been with Caleb Roberts for years premium slowly crept up , so tried NFUM , told agent wouldn't divulge any figures and wouldn't change unless a big reduction in payments. Result was a 30% saving, speaking to Caleb Roberts rep all he could say was he didn't realise NFUM were so competitive. It definitely pays to shop around if you are loyal it will unfortunately cost you , whoever you are with.

I think the trend here is they are all competitive IF you are new business

if you renew no question you could pay less elsewhere (often significantly).

this is getting like electric and gas where we have to change suppler every year (in the diary) to get the best rates
