Is there anything that will kill or get rid of wireworm in potato ground after old grass
Have you had any samples with wire worm in spuds this year ,
Any ideas whyThere is a lot of damage, my agronomist is becoming the uk expert on it! Old damage mostly on ours (it’s healed over, just a shallow hole mostly) but he says it’s going to be a big problem. He caught 19 in one trap on ours last week!
Any ideas why
You need to try the Garlic aspirin mix I sell. Leatherjackets, slugs, wireworm and some nematodes. Sold as a crop tonic but worth a try rather than do nothing. 1.0ltr/ha £109/ 5ltr del plus vat
For Lj's when they come to the surface to graze the crop. I would suggest if its grass going to potatoes I would put it on at the same time as glypho ( if using it) pre- ploughing. When do you apply that?
Routine use of Mocap goneAny ideas why
More to it than that, never had trouble, never used nematocide , lost 50% of a block of piper to them on a field which is a bit too steep/awkward/variable soils so only on it's second potato crop in 25 years.Routine use of Mocap gone
