In cases like that, use a stainless rod. Stainless will weld any ferrous metal to any other ferrous metal.I have found its the only way to attach things to my KV plough,6013 rods change the structure to something resembling cast iron, and the bits fall off! This has to be one of the worst things ive ever had to weld, trying to weld poor quality 1940s steel (if you could even call it that) to a much younger wheel rim. Mate tried it with mig, just wouldnt weld at all, farted and fizzed but couldnt make a bead, it just spat back all the time. We finally managed to fit them in though, and no they havent broke either

Sold that trailer ages ago...it was carrying 4/5 tonnes that harvest and they didnt give. But they were welded both sides, not like normal trailer wheelsIn cases like that, use a stainless rod. Originally it was built for early fert on winter cereal, but have some wet meadow grassland as well. Also have the idea it will be handy for chasing cows round padocks, always a pain having to hook something awkward off tractor to sow fert so usually wait on a few paddocks, this can go in a few minutes.Very smart. 5+ yrs ago i could sow my ground most times of the year with the tractor and sower but of late im having to do it with a quad and sower, we seem to be front line defense here when it comes to the rain, there has been that much of it in the last 2 yrs i dont know where its all going, winter and summer.Originally it was built for early fert on winter cereal, but have some wet meadow grassland as well.
