Me and pretty most other voters would agree I think so thats what those MP guys that they elect will do

Why wasn't I tagged? I fell left out, excluded and am probably on ignore but I don't care.

Where there is scheme there is a schemer. Subsidies are a bit like hitting the bottle in bad times. Masks the problems but they are still there when you sober up.

Subsidies end up soaked up by input cost inflation and land price rises anyway. They are a cop out.

So we are better out of the EU then as in it you have no control over Irish Beef imports
Time to make some noise
Inside or outside the EU you, me or any other British farmer has no control over Irish beef imports, American beef imports, Argentinean beef imports.... Make all the noise you like, cheap food wins more votes than healthy farm incomes.

I seem to have shut down the Scottish Harvest disaster thread with only a couple of posts . . .
:ROFLMAO:

Do you EVER stop whinging & complaining about how tough it is ?

If it's REALLY that bad, why don't you cash it all in, get another job, invest your money elsewhere, emigrate, or run for politics ?
Nearly as funny as the flat white debacle we had a week ago, an OAP on the sherry letting loose on facebook/internet.....?

Not if the uk gov scraps the support while the EU continue to get theirs and irish increase theirs to take over our market
The only support you will get from anyone in the future is an environmental payment . What the Irish do privately is up to them but inside of the EU you have no way of stopping their beef coming in , I would sooner have a go at stopping it by putting pressure on our own government directly which we will be able to do in a few months along with some tractors blocking the port entrance

I think one reason for the Irish beef payouts is the fact that, particularly in the west of Ireland, whole communities rely on the cow for an income. Just think how many people make a living off the back of a cow. And those communities don't have any other income stream, not like around me where we have tourism, quarrying and are in prime commuter belt for Manchester, Sheffield etc. Get rid of cows in the west of Ireland and the place will be deserted, get rid of the cows in the Peak District and it just makes more space for tourists and 2nd home buyers!
This will be how the Irish government are justifying it, they are subsidising the rural community not the individual beef farmer.

And our farmers have had to adapt because they have been screwed for years
Our communities are dead . Gone finished . Look in the villages in West Wales . No shops no schools no pubs .
