Anyone used Emslies Galileo?
Yes. Good stretchy calves with more height than hamlet. Not as extreme as hamlet though. Good enough bull.Anyone used Emslies Galileo?
Did you weigh this calf at birth, Bob?Had another magnum calve easily born compared to the others. Out of 1 calverView attachment 840229
Just had 2 calve so far.....one went 7 days over, the other 16 days overHope you don’t mind me jumping on. People who have used Lorenzo what gestation length did you get?
That might be a Limi thing, but then again what else would you expect from Cogent semen?Just had 2 calve so far.....one went 7 days over, the other 16 days over
Why will it make a difference which AI company it is from?!That might be a Limi thing, but then again what else would you expect from Cogent semen?
We Genus LIM bulls and they are all usually 5 to 15 days over gestation . We've used Lodge Hamlet over these last 2 years and we can't fault the quality of calves and ease of calving. Highly recommend, produces uniformed quality stock. We've also used Galilleo and Carmon Dauphin. Dauphin would be a close second to Hamlet from what we saw. In a nutshell,Some AI companies will do a calving survey on their Bulls, before you n me get chance & then follow em thru to slaughter if there not good enough they die no messing. Some just buy a bull coz it mum won aprize at a show,so it must be a good"n...................Bit like a swale????? ha ha.Why will it make a difference which AI company it is from?!
Oh right i see, genus will maybe kill a bull if its hair isnt hard enough hahaIn a nutshell,Some AI companies will do a calving survey on their Bulls, before you n me get chance & then follow em thru to slaughter if there not good enough they die no messing. I don't understand why folk would just buy straws just from any old bull that the ai company happens to have. All the AI bulls I use have been specifically selected for a specific job for now or in the future, bought in advance and stored with the AI man. The whole point of me using AI on the herd is that I choose a suitable bull for the specific cow/heifer.In a nutshell,Some AI companies will do a calving survey on their Bulls, before you n me get chance & then follow em thru to slaughter if there not good enough they die no messing. Think Tomschoice lims are Keen on easy calving/short gestation lines.I’ve used a fair bit of young bulls from cogent. Used a lot of tomschoice jet and had some cracking calves now started calving to lacette some stretchy calves among them too. I quite like filling out the calving surveys plus at £4 a straw they are ideal for sweeping up.
4 quid a straw for what
