If it wasn't for the 700,00 muslims ( mainly from modern day Pakistan and Bangladesh) who came to our aid in the war from 1914, there would be no England. 89,000 gave the ultimate sacrifice and died for Britain. 20% of empire recruits were muslims. 280,000 Muslim Algerians, Tunisians and Morrocans fought for us.

Considering many Muslim soldiers were awarded the highest and most prestigious military award (Victoria Cross), I think a statute to honour their services and sacrifices would be befitting.

Let's not beat around the bush, the man was a slave trader and was involved in the sex trade, which involved the sale and sexual exploitation of young slave girls.

Rather then discussing the real reason as to why there is such little outcry with regards to the removal of his statue, we have folk on here blaming blacks and ethnic minorities.:D. Sugar coat it as much as you like but the man supplied young girls to nonces hence the majority of white folk want nothing to do with him in 2020 and are embarrassed of our slave trading past. This by no means results in our history being deleted

I only comment on threads like this to get the resident racists going, it works every time, we always get the same 5 or 6 . I hope they never attend a sporting event and witness black rugby and football players representing their country, it may lead to a breakdown.
which 5 or 6 are the resident racists ?

No. You should do some research and listen / watch interviews with the rioters and other mob members, many want exactly that; then take a squint at the idiot Sadiq Khan and his plans to make London less British.

Was Sadiq Khan not democratically elected by the people of London, therefore he is free to do as he chooses. What in your opinion is British?

Did we not invade Iraq to introduce a similiar democratic process?

We celebrated when the statue of Saddam Hussain was toppled and promoted people power, so why are you so against our own people toppling the statue of a person in this country who like Saddam inflicted pain and misery upon thousands of families?

No the English begged them to come as we were about to lose the war, India was 7000 miles away.

At least have the decency to respect the soliders who died for our country, rather then dismiss their actions you ungrateful p71ck.

Read through similar threads and you will notice a veiled stream of hate against non whites, the authors will be familiar in all the threads.

I leave them to it, however sometimes it is good to stir the pot and bring more traffic to the threads especially when I am at home waiting for the tractor to be serviced and have nothing better to do.

Could say exactly the same about Mrs T.

Don't think the miners were too chuffed in the early 80s
Have you not realised yet that coal mining was a dying industry even then. The mines were uneconomical, demand was falling and Scargill was earning a fortune by misleading people into thinking that they had a job for life come what may. I think many mining communities a generation on would look back and agree that the end was inevitable.
