No they haven't, always best to establish the facts.Seems ironic given they've banned red meat from the menu now

Oxford University student union vote to ban red meatNo they haven't, always best to establish the facts.
It could also be equally said of vegans or most other debates, where is the research and fact to back up what is claimed?,
The devil being in the detail, don't just read the headline. Oxford Uni is made up of colleges, the union is made up of members from the colleges although reports suggest little interest is shown in the union. Union voted to seek a ban of red meat in college eateries but that then requires each college to vote on banning red meat in their eateries. It is like the conservative conference voting for a requirement that local conservative clubs ban fascists, the local club would then decide whether to adopt the motion by putting it to a vote of their membership.
I believe the link is because it is the third world countries which will suffer first and more severely by rising sea level and other consequences of global warming.“The university has a commitment to anti-racism, and this requires urgent action to minimise greenhouse emissions.”
Whatever he is smoking, it's stronger than anything we had as students.
We took some lambs for the freezer and payment for a few for bits of grazing etc. The small family run abattoir is well run and the staff superb.
There was no fuss,no shouting, just gentle movement of the animals through the process.
The height of compassion and professionalism.
True though considering it has already happened at Cambridge there is more chance of it happening than the university deciding not to.The devil being in the detail, don't just read the headline. Probably even more tenuous than the Conservative analogy, as the student union has no hold over the colleges (they hold it in contempt). The student union is a bit of a joke; doesn't even have a bar (the union bar is something completely different and contains some very strange beasts). The devil being in the detail, don't just read the headline. Don't we make vitamin D just by being outside in the sunlight? If we do, why do we need to take a supplement? Just get a bit of sunlight on your skin, maybe even have a walk at the same time and also get your heart fitter.Yes. One of the most important for both calcium deposition in bone structure as well as resistance to viruses is vitamin D, which is probably deficient from the ideal in almost every one of us, even if we eat meat daily.
Of course some calcium also needs to be ingested.
One of the most prescribed medicines/supplements prescribed for osteoporosis is vitamin D3. Ideally before it happens. The industry standard seems to be a supplement of 1000iu daily, but really, this is only enough in some people to ward off rickets and certainly up to 8000iu can make a heck of a difference.
Some trials have reported that giving 60,000iu daily for three weeks after catching Covid19 has a massive influence on a positive outcome for the patient, with no adverse side effect.
Because hardly anyone, even farmers and outdoorsy types get enough sun except in mid-summer to create adequate amounts of vit D in the body. A short walk in the sun just doesn't cut it. Even people in fairer climates are found deficient.Don't we make vitamin D just by being outside in the sunlight? If we do, why do we need to take a supplement? Naked rambler?Because hardly anyone, even farmers and outdoorsy types get enough sun except in mid-summer to create adequate amounts of vit D in the body. A short walk in the sun just doesn't cut it. Even people in fairer climates are found deficient.
What sort of efficient factory for VitD do you think we have inside us that gets through clothes of produces VitD from short exposures to tiny parts of our bodies? To get enough from the sun we would need to be out in the duff all year round, lord forbid.
of course each "expert" is within their own little bubble, therefore someone looking at skin cancer says, cover up at all times, never take your shirt off while working outside to get a tan, and then from a perspective of vitamin D, get a tan. I heard someone (chest expert I think) on the today programme saying houses did not have enough ventilation, open windows to get fresh air in, while at the same time building regs are testing new housing for air tightness to reduce wastage of fuel.Naked rambler?
If he's constantly on the road he might have sufficient VitD.Naked rambler?

You should go to an abattoir.
I went to Farmers Fresh a few years ago and concluded that I would rather end my days there than rotting away on a pee stained bed in a care home.
