How do you weigh loads of produce

A local weigh bridge has closed, always took it for granted £5 per weigh.

I'm in an industrial area so a few about, but how do people manage out in the country.

Big farms have their own don't they?
I guess the local smaller places could use them?
Other wise, a lot of guessing.

Do they? I can think of a couple.

The one I used needed 40K spending on it so they scrapped it, sad loss. Local clay pipe works.

Two farms within 6 miles of me have weighbridges.

A fiver cash goes a long way.

I can drive 28 miles and use one for free...

Trailer weighers. Pretty accurate really, certainly good enough to sell corn down to the last load.

No shortage in the "countryside" around here. Animal feed mills, quarries etc have weighbridges. There's one 500 yards from my yard and another two within ten miles

£5 very cheap £ 10 + around here

I will just the on board combine weigher. I’ve no idea how you set it up and it only appears to work at random intervals but the gestapo don’t k ow that

Thanks it was mentioned.

There are also weigh cells to set up a temp weigh bridge, confused as to which is the cheapest. Avery offer both no idea of price though.

I've one 5 miles away but the customer is 6 miles away in opposite direction.

If the weigh bridge is sound then you just need some weigh cells.

We got new ones for £1K and a weigh terminal. Concrete foundation. Job's a good un.

Don't have a weigh bridge.

Local pipe works claim their's needs £44,000 of repair work. Fair enougth it is their decision.

Point taken though, congratulation on your investment, sounds good value.

If they haven't cut it up then take a look see if it's salvagable.

Should be able to put you in touch of someone who can supply the weigh cells.

A lot of Ag contractors around here use portable weighbridges for weighing silage trucks, seem a good tool and fairly easy to shift round. No idea on price though.

I have a RDS weighload 200 and just checked it over weighbridge and 40 kgs out on a 10 ton trailer load and not been used for 12 months.It can be calibrated for up to 5 trailers I think

I've looked at the website.

So do you have to tip the trailer to weigh the load & does slightly sloping terrain affect the reading?

How do you know how high to tip the load?

So maybe £!,800 now, I could afford that.

Weighbridge is better because can weigh fertiliser spreader or sprayer attached to tractor for calibration, but got to be way more expensive.
