Theres a whole raft of folk with guns and insurance who'll merrily come and shoot them for you. Some might even put £10 in the tip jar for the pleasure of their hobby. What a bl**dy pest they are. Any suggestions how best to deal with them?
I am doing the same trial here, lots of pigeons grazing them for free !!!I know someone locally that’s involved with trials to help prevent the larvae in the stems.
so one field has been topped and another grazed tight with sheep.
Having seen fields stripped bare then do really well after pigeon damage I am only being half arsed in my pigeon control this year, especially with the thoughts they may be eating any larvae.I know someone locally that’s involved with trials to help prevent the larvae in the stems.

Strangely enough, we had hundreds until the beginning of December, now, only the odd one or two.
Haven’t see any large flocks for weeks, and long may it continue
I agree. If we don’t control pigeons here we get half the yield. Last year on badly pigeon grazed areas on fields near woods never started growing again in the spring.
we account £50/ha for pigeon control.
For me good establishment followed closely by good pigeon patrol are the most important things to a good cropI agree.
The CSFB larvae are in the petiole of the leaf that the pigeons don't eat, (but sheep and a topper will).
No thanks, you are welcome to emAh, so there yours are they! I will send them back later this afternoon.
