We got put on the vulnerable properties list last summer after having a dose of stuff knicked, six months later the trailer went, haven't seen a copper or even a cop car since last summer. It's a fwckin joke.

It’s still in place today. Police will refuse to follow stolen vehicle trackers into camps on the grounds of “officer safety”.

Been told this by an ex cop - it can take the entire resources of a medium sized town to deal with one traveler encampment if they kick off - and if they do the ones out and about run amok on the back of it - so often its a deliberate policy to pander to the liberal nice nice they're harmless champagne socialist brigade and pretend their way of life isn't inherently incompatible with civilized human behavior, than be the town in the news that was burnt to the ground by them. Theyve killed a cop - they laughed when being sentenced , and police still go soft on them, plus the police get alot of pressure from local polititians to keep the peace. ShIIIII-t and theving are small fry to ransacked towns and assaults.

IE have it planned when a camp pops up, cancel leave, have teams on hand to kettle them and GO on and deal with them. Half if not all the caravans and vans are stolen - last group near here was fun, you could put the reg numbers into the DVLA checker - Transit vans with Astra and Focus reg plates....
They could seize everything- do it a few times and the message gets accross.
If they get violent, they can do a few years, if they fight back, a few more.... they will then learn its like in france of Poland and germany - camp and kick off.... and you end the day stood on a street corner with nothing, or in prison. Sadly the guardian would then cut down more trees to protest how they were innocent and didnt know stealing was wrong.

One of the positives to rural living round here, is that the pikeys rarely venture this far off the beaten track. I'm not sure if that's because of the lack of much worth stealing, or because there is no shortage of deep old mine shafts!

A bloke on my cricket team had his van stolen during a match by Pikeys with his tools in a few months ago.
He was told of a sighting of the van in a traveller site about ten miles away (power of Facebook). He broke into the site in the middle of the night and stole his own van back. He’s got bigger balls than me!
