Have a Amazon Avant drill with Amatron 3 control box.

Want to run drill on 2 tractors. The power plug has to be ran to battery and a earth on chassis. It costs £400 for a new one.

Has anyone just taken the power supply from a point in the cab and if so how did they get on?

I wouldn't recommend taking the power from the cab if it's powering anything juicy like a motor to drive the metering unit?

As above, we've got Anderson plugs on the back of everything now, hedge cutter, drill's, Einboch seeder etc all work better that way.

It drives motor on seed side. Fert side powered from drive wheel.

I'd go Anderson from the battery we used to get power issues from running inside power with the kuhn drill .

I can run anything on any tractor in a few minutes now that everything is wired from the battery fert spreader, sumo ,stocks seed box on the grass harrow no faffing around swapping wiring looms now

Which type of Anderson plugs do you recommend? Been looking online and seems to be a few different options
I have red and grey on different machines the pins are the same so you can just pop the pins out and put in a different colour plug.

All my tractors have fused 50 amp grey Anderson plugs in them that we made up so all control boxes can be interchangeable including my electric drive for my front hopper drill similar to your type @Chae1

I wired ours straight into a cab D socket and haven't had any issues. Took some doing because there's so many earths to squeeze into one plug but it's fine. Makes it easy to swap between tractors but worth noting ours is on a sprayer so only operating the shut off valve motors which is probably quite a different thing to running a metering motor continuously for hours at a time.

Plug it into the isobus socket. That way you can swap it to any tractor with ease. Have used Anderson sockets in the past after a while was getting bother with bad connections due to corrosion.

Would it be worth ringing Tim at Frank Rowland or Bob Coar to see if they had the bit to put in the other tractor second hand?
They might not have the bit but will know where to get it. We had an Amazone spreader with a similar fit up

Drill doesn't have any isobus sockets as far as I know. It's 2005.
You can buy the isobus plugs that fit into the socket on your tractor and just fit onto the power supply for the control box. I have them on balers and not had any problems also run an amazone drill running two electric feedrollers. Makes swapping tractors easy.
