Have been helping the brother in law do some small bales. He is using an MF390 with a New Holland 276 Super Baler.
I would anticipate we have done 10 acres and 600 bales, but we keep snapping the flywheel shear bolt.
As fat as we are aware everything it set up correctly.
PTO turning at 540...
Seen a mchale f540 on ebay, 2014, 12000bales, looks clean and pics are in a dealers yard, 6000, near Barnsley, will this be a scam add, thought it should be nearer 10 grand. I'm nearly sick of sorting my claas.
Well, I've paid my licence fee for as long as I can remember despite, in recent years, being monumentally nauseated by the BBC's political bias and PC preaching. I like the idea of the BBC as an institution, but not what it's become, and reading the article below - I quote some of the more...
Looking at an old 550 round baler just for doing 100 or so silo bales Round home so don’t want any thing fancy but ideally wanted the bales chopped I’ve found a good net wrap JD550 but it didn’t have knives in it I’ve found knives online just wondering can you buy knives and put them in to or do...
Here in my part of the world all small square balers are mostly of circa 1970's vintage, and the whole flat eight thing never seemed to take off. So after having spent another evening watching a painfully slow baler plod around a field with rain clouds looming in the distance got me thinking. If...
I'm looking for a high capacity bale sledge and I've seen these as an alternative to the cooks belted one's. Has anyone had any experience with these Meijer roller type sledges? They look more compact. I was wondering are there any pitfalls with this model. I'd be baling straw only
I've seen...
I was wondering what saving if any could be made if I were to buy a baler to bale our 500 bales v a contractor .I was looking at a tarruup bio for the job .it is hard to see how cost effective this would be .I know a clamp is cheaper but quality ain't as good either
These are my 3 tractors for 2500 acre arable and a few sheep. I love the simplicity and yet have enough tech to do everything I need.

Lowest hours 4400 highest has 6500.
but I will keep rebuilding them as nothing else really floats my boat.
Looking for an older baler ( low end budget) ideally net wrap over string, will be mainly doing 4ft hay bales and barley straw. Nothing fancy, just finding conventional bales more of a hassle now.
Presume looking at Claas Rollant, welgar, older jd’s etc.
Any pointers or any for sale ....

So, I might be in the market for a new variable chamber round baler. Locally we have new Holland/case, Massey/Fendt, possibly mc Hale and Vicon/kubota. I will want a chopper version I think. The criteria are, tight heavy bales and reliability. Your experiences and opinions please!
thank you
Matthew
