Hi all,
We have been renting some ground for the past 5 years which the farmer now wants back. We reseeded it all 2 years ago. We were aloud to have 1st cut off it before he took it back in hand. But just wondering what we should be paying per acre just for the 1st cut considering we reseeded it applied slurry and fert.
Thanks

1st cut would generally be 50% of the total annual production so work back from that I guess

When did they tell you to be off?
He said at the beginning of the year we could have one cut. Trouble is he's so bloody awkward to deal with, he will never give you any answers, it's always I will let you know. So we just assumed it would be 1/3 current rent as we didn't hear any different.

Tricky carry on. He’z knackered job really for you. Really it should be 50% but as you have reseeded it not long ago I don’t think you owe him a penny. You should have had this year on notice and entered the winter being able to plan numbers silage etc

Work out what it cost to reseed and divide by 5?

You've only had benefit of 1.5. He's due you 3.5.

Farmers paying £60 cut around here + suppling fertiliser and Slurry no SFP
But I would think 1st cuts worth a bit more
