Accreditation for grass cutting Solar

Just heard back from my mob and apparently they want me to "hire in" a H&S consultant Co for all the paperwork etc linked to grass cutting and broadleaved weed spraying. Utter farce if you ask me, they also want details of training and environmentally friendly practises etc.
I am suspecting that they just wish to make it hard for me as am the "favoured" bidder on the lease so just a box ticking exercise.
They want Cosh and H&S audit/plans etc.
Is this the norm?
I do have a good friend who is head of H&S at a large Co so am sure he could point me in the right direction re templates etc.

If you need assistance on this, my next door neighbour was director of an H&S inspection co and now is director of a solar co I am sure he could help but would probably expect payment but he is a decent chap

Cheers I have had the email with detailed info of what they want, SSIP and training courses to a min of IOSH certification, just looked into it and not too bad. Just chatted to my friend and seems not too bad, just general H&S stuff. So see what they come back with if I do a couple of courses

Well, after finding out the minimum they would be happy with SSIP and a tractor driving ticket, I booked on a course and registered with SMAS (£645) and I was then informed that they had awarded the tender to someone else, needless to say I am out of pocket and not at all amused. Gridserve, you're arseholes!!! Danny Letts especially!

Touch wood, nothing that mad.... yet.

I had to fill in a load of paperwork 2 years ago, but heard nothing since... I essentially said that the H&S, COSHH, were all part of my normal good practice on the farm and supplied my sprayers ticket.

My quote laboured the point that the previous regime was anything but environmentally friendly!! Seemed to have been taken on board at the time. :) Using a weed wiper and spot spraying was also a plus.

Yes this is.

It’s insane. They want us to repair the roads inside fenced areas, after taking a two day training course….

The way the worlds going
I have some MOT to put down and simply get the material in, and charge them £50/hr to fill the potholes.

If the O&M team start getting uppity, then I will pull out of the maintenance. Life is too short to be arsed for £1-2K/annum

That’s really poor form.

Normally they want to keep in with landowner.

We strung them up so they had to offer to us first which helps persuading reasonableness!

That's awful, and all this in 24/48hrs sounds like a complete stitch-up...

Yes space of 24hrs. I've fired off e-mail stating my displeasure to a bod above. It's not the money that pisses me off it's mainly that I wanted to cut the grass because I can tell what an English Partridge chick looks like, plenty of pairs already moved in.
Instead I will have to endure some monkey just blatting through the place chopping all and sundry up.
I specifically got a clause stating that grass cutting not to take place during English Partridge nesting period.
I know the firm who got the contract and I know how business is conducted as know a very good friend who worked for them.

I know the type of firm you describe.... only too well! Possibly even the company, if it is quite local to you.....

Like you, I want to do the work, as it makes for a better timed set op operations for starters, if necessary at all. A few years ago, 2 mowers arrived and went through the site. Completely pointless, as I had sheep in there!!
