Agco Agi-4 vs Topcon Agi4

Right here goes...

My AGCO (topcon) Agi-4 dome on my MF tractor has died (according to dealer) so I need to replace it but a new one is £6500:mad:.

Can I use a topcon Agi-4 instead and just move the snap in modules across? I have been advised that this will work by another dealer but I thought I was told once that it wouldn't??? Apparently you can't use a Fendt (topcon) Agi-4 because they changed the software in the domes slightly? There seem to be more used topcon receivers around than AGCO ones.

In case it is relevant I run the gps through a C3000 screen and am using NTRIP.

Please help

TIA

Won’t work. Slightly different wiring to the Deutsche plugs for a start. Had to put an adapter cable into my Fendt for a few weeks when using my topcon system.

I’ve heard they can flash software onto one of the other but no one seemed to think it was very successful.

You cannot flash software other than fendt software onto an fendt branded one . You also can’t flash fendt software into non fendt branded ones
Call LH Agro. The team there will give you the best options and prices etc

I’ve got a dead one, keep planning to send it to DK electronics but haven’t got round to wrapping and sending it.

Repairing the "AGCO AGI-4" would probably make sense but I don't think buying a new receiver would. AGCO does not seem to have any support for this outdated product, I would replace it with a modern 4-constellation GNSS receiver.

Unfortunately the Topcon AGS-2 receiver does not work with the C3000 screen (been told so). I guess a new Topcon kit would work with the existing steer valve. Expensive from a Topcon dealer but would you dare to purchase this one:

Are they both white? The screen is a Topcon X30 screen as Topcon is written on it. Would a Topcon branded screen work with the AGCO SW on the AGI-4?

In any case odd that the item is described so poorly, the topic is sufficiently difficult without confusing/erroneous product descriptions.

No, Topcon is grey (Matt finish)
