your animals are a credit to you. Must be a great feeling walking into a shed of such quality. we used to have 30 sucklers and 20 of them would always be great quality. pleasure to go see them in the field. We now rear dairy x calves and to me theres no pleasure in it. but thats my old mans choice as was fed up of difficult calving

Thank you...i know farming is about making money but breeding and finishing the better end is where my passion lies

Show potential show/sale at sedgemoor yesterday

Apparently whilst they were very good cattle very few of them had real show potential.

Trade was described to me as being along commercial lines for most of the entry.

Quite a few were bought by a regular commercial buyer at sedgemoor from the south/ north east that has been mentioned on TFF in the past.

Some super cattle in the stirks at sedge today with real show potential making anything from £1090 to £1180 etc..

But then stirk trade today was just plain and simply crazy across the board.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
