Animal transport authorisation renewal

Attached is the relevant legislation (if you want to read it)
And here's the response from APHA when i whinged about the ''paperwork for the sake of it attitude''

I have attached a copy of the Regulation – since leaving the EU this has been adopted into domestic legislation. The format of the Certificate of Competence is shown on page 40.

APHA have always required this format to be presented when applying for the Type 2 Authorisation. We are now bringing the Type 1 applications in line. Chapter II Article 6 of the Regulation (page 6) requires transporters to have a copy of the Certificate of Competence available to be inspected when transporting. By requesting to see this at the time of renewal the Competent Authority is confirming that transporters are following the requirements correctly.

This is the requirement now for all new and renewal applications so all applications are being checked on this basis.

I hope this helps to explain the situation.

Kind regards,
That's complete b@@locks Tim

If you follow their logic no type 1 authorisations should have been renewed ever by the "Competent Authority"

Their abject failure to understand their own legislation is breath taking

You have a personal CPC . This you either have or don't have. One presented once it's recorded

A transporter authorisation is discretionary and can be withdrawn. Those permitted under that authorisation are listed

That's EC1-2005 which we've adopted as an extension of the WATO 1997 Orders

There should be no £44 fee. They merely need to enter your awarding body and certificate number of your CPC. THERE IS NO TIME EXPIRY to the CPC

better than £44 but still totally unnecessary when the old one has been perfectly fine for the last 14/15 years

I've applied 4 months in advance for my renewal to understand APHA's latest requirements

The initial reply from WIT :

Good Afternoon Mr Perkins
