APV Seeding Units

Hello!

While having a walk around LAMMA the other day, I came across APV, Red and yellow tines and grass seeding kit.

They looked like good bits of kit, to the casual observer that was tired of walking about, that is...

Does anyone have APV kit? Any good or bad stories about them...?

I've had an APV seeder for about 10 years now. Mounted on the back of a power harrow to broadcast grass seeds at 3m width. Been a reliable machine.

I called for a chat on the APV stand as I have one of their seeder units on an Amazone Catros disc. It’s badged as an Amazone Greendrill. The woman on the stand was very helpful as I need a different seed roller for sowing catch crop mixtures.

we have had one 12 years .
Unimpressed with it! poor wireing the plugs on the wireing harness have small pins in them and eventually burn out , you have to replace the harness . I've had 1 new controll box
I asked a well known repair of control boxes and he said he'd rather not touch them as they had cheep poor quality components in them.
Have also had a new fan motor .
They work best with a direct feed from the battery as they are power hungry.

Have an APV twin disc slug Pelletier, running straight of battery but can't stop cables and control box from getting very hot, often have to stop and let it cool down if I am in a big field.

Have a couple of apv air seeders, if I was to buy again would buy stocks or something different. Calibration is a bit hit and miss, wiring as described above, and backup shocking
