Used to hand hoe beet and onions here (tractor hoed 2-3times too) June/July time. Could be a great time to get a tan, or get very wet! Don’t miss the Gad flys!
Everyone on farm would do it, 2 rows up and 2 back. Leave off for docky and leave your hoe in the row.
No one wanted the sprayer rows, better walking but more weeds due to dust coming up from the sprayer wheels and masking the weeds.
Could get a few kg of early new potatoes too in some fields.
