Best Bale Size To Sell

Best bale size to sell is surely 1200x900. Four high on a lorry is 100mm more straw than 5 x 700.
Every bale I see here is 900mm except mine as I brought a 700 here.
As a user too, no extra work to put in a 900 bale than a 700 but more straw = less work.
I think you only see as many 700 deep bales in the uk as you do because Claas have a big following 🤷‍♂️

😂😂😂😂😂

Kind of I suppose.
It was getting to the point that I hated hay making, just because of those (there are actually two of them) frigging 1200. It’s just too hot here to be changing 30 shear bolts per day.
Plus, I saw the light regarding round bales and rain coming on baled hay (or straw come to that). In fact, that was the end of square bales for me, about 300 straw bales out of the baler without a worry as the forecast was for 2mm. We got 2 French showers which made 6 inches!!!
Well, that winters bedding was nice🤮.
Even that rain is not a problem on tight round bales (certainly for home use)

I notice the bloody things parked there sometimes and think I should let them go ...

Round bales are good if you've got the storage .
My baler may be older than yours and I've never broke a shearpin :scratchhead:

I would think back in the day a 1200 was expensive for a farmer, so most likely would be bought by a contractor and worn out by the time they ended up being farmer owned. I tend to think 1200’s weren’t that good in the first place but some seem to have good experiences.
And the sweeping packer thing, well I broke 4 of those 🥴

I did 5 seasons with it.
The man at la Favorie was a lovely chap, a treat to deal with, he threw a LOT of things in, but by all accounts he was “allergic to Greece” and generally poor at maintaining kit, and it was half owned with the guy next door; who was worse

That's very funny if you read it back
