Their are alot more insures for farmers thsn nfu , i even found one with substantially more cover half the price and have been good with a little claim .

Caleb Roberts are very good . Cheaper than NFU ,better cover and good with claims . Based around Brecon but insure all over the country . We have property in London that's insured with them !

But back to BFU ......nice to see membership coming in .

There was a shout out on the BFU forums for anyone who wanted to join initial steering committee to come forward, everyone welcome. So we had a meeting, and we needed to get things done, so appointed initial chair, secretary and treasurer. Things are going to move quickly, so any of this can be reviewed at any point, but I'd suggest sticking with it for a few months, then reassessing.

I was proposed as chair with no-one else offering.

I hope to rally farmers to work and come together at the BFU. Intend to represent all those issues which farmers feel haven't been appropriately dealt with by any existing representation.

The concept is do something to help ourselves, and improve the future of British agriculture.

Well if they haven't got the time to do the job then they shouldn't do it.
