Bloody hauliers ( again )

We had a haulier call asking to load rape Monday afternoon. We said we couldn’t load then as combine would be rolling and explain the load out blocks the trailer run. Haulier says fine and asked when could we load, we said Tuesday morning, preferably first thing, and all seemed to be agreeable to that.
All ready to load first thing Tuesday morning, but no lorry turns up so we call. “Oh we’re coming this afternoon”.
Why do they ask when we can load and then arbitrarily choose another time with no consultation? So the answer was sorry, we can’t load then the combine will be rolling and the load out blocks the trailer run.
Tuesday afternoon I get a call from merchant asking why we are we being awkward about loading!
I do sympathise with hauliers, but if we hadn’t called Tuesday morning to see where the lorry was we would have had to turn the lorry away Tuesday afternoon had they turned up unannounced which would have done nobody any good.
You need to alter your trailer run

We used to get drivers delivering fert who thought they were going to a farmer with the same surname at White Gates Farm which I eventually found out was somewhere in Wiltshire, 100 plus miles away

If they said they were half an hour away they got a bit of a shock.

I feel sorry for hauliers that have to deliver to Lloyd’s at Oswestry. 4 hours sitting waiting to tip is not uncommon . Would drive me mad .
Think I’d tip a load in front of the office door or something .

As we don't have the word Farm in our address that seems to confuse them despite the postcode being at our gate and google maps showing it to the meter and the only property there for a long time.

Which reminds me, how many farms have the farm/business name on a sign at the gate? Perhaps with 'Truck Entrance' or similar on it?
