Do you not need tascc or something equivalent for beet?

Well, that's what BS's haulage guide says, but in practice you see plenty of non registered trailers in the factories. I was thinking a couple of hauliers may well have spare tascc trailers until yours comes through. One self-driven truck is the way we do it as well, friends with two or three lorries always seem to be stressed right out.

I’ve not been to Tilbury, I’m mostly on grain into mills. Are you on grain or aggregate? If you’ve seen me I’m the driver who try’s to acknowledge everyone but mostly gets ignored.

Almost 100 percent grain, plenty seem to do well on aggregate but the stone I get offered is always a pain in the arris, and by the time you've washed out and calmed down from being spoken to like a c--- it's barely worth the effort for the paltry rate. I don't mind the grain at all really and we do OK out of it.

Is the Agriprem building still at Tilbury? I worked there in the late 90s unloading soya boats that came in from Brazil.

I do understand that the current situation seems to be a lack of drivers. I’m struggling to believe it as including myself I’ve got 3 people wanting to drive lorries I don’t yet own. There’s also only a handful of people who even know about it.
I’ve been there, trucks, trailers, work, drivers all in place. What you will struggle with is DRIVERS, most are work shy, unreliable, lie, and will jump ship for 10p an hour ( they will also tell everyone their last boss was a W A N K E R) and their current one is awesome, I’ll bet you‘ve heard this! I made the huge mistake of assuming truck drivers were as loyal as farm workers, they definitely are not. @FarmerFred on here is my cousin and he has 2 of the best bulk drivers you could get, note, he HAS them, not you!

I’ve done 1 load of stone hated it so much I’ve not been back. I know several guys who can’t stand grain and love doing aggregates though, good job we’re not all the same.

He HAS them for now till the extra 10p or the V8 Scania comes on offer.
There are plenty of hard working drivers out there, every industry is the same, I know plenty of farm workers who would fit your description nicely.

He’s very lucky with his drivers and they are preferred hauliers for me and many others locally.
Good luck with the haulage, there is certainly a need for more bulkers.

I utterly detest hauling Stone, and I don't even know why, it just seems so pointless or something and no matter how many loads I got in the day, johnny hardbap had got one more the day before

Not sure which that one is, if it is the concrete monolith by the grain dock that you can see from miles away, yes, had a nasty dust explosion in a silo a year or two back and lots of new storage and handling going in.

So just an update, after less than 6 months on the job. It looks like I’ve been a busy fool and works now dropping off as I’m obviously being to fussy. Thanks for all the input I should of paid more attention, still you’ve got to give it a try haven’t you.

If you don't mind if I ask but where's it gone wrong? Is it the people your carrying for or the pay rates offered versus the running costs?
