Crimping grain

So at what rate should I drill the barley because for wholecrop it would be 50-60kg/ac? Similar for crimp?

When we used to grow what we called in the day, Dredge corn which was a mixture of Barley and Oats, we drilled 50 kg Barley, 25 kg Oats and then undersow as well.

Why's that?

Unless it's cracking good silage, it's merely a rumen filler.

Regular seed rate. Think of it as normal crop of Spring Barley - spray and fertiliser as per usual.

Is that a murska 350? I have one but think it would be too slow doing a good tonnage for crimping all at once

So tell me...thinking of growing whole crop wheat next season...and or peas/barley mix ..can you feed that add lib to beef cattle, or should i be adding something, no mixer on farm and just want a simply system..

Add lib with straw yes fantastic feed , it's kinder to their digestion that dry grain , if that's crimp you mean
I added brewers grains and maize glutton to up the protein but you may not need to with peas

Whole crop...soft wheat chopped up with forager and ensiled, fed ad lib with hay or good barley straw as required

Would not be as fast as Crimp but would do the same job
