A farmer by the name of Charles Quick has set up the above company to make gps auto steer kit to retro fit to any vehicle fitted with hydraulic steering. Claims accuracy of 2 cm pass to pass with RTK. Uses AgOpeGPS. £3000 all in I believe. Sounds like it could shake up the market a bit. Certainly the sort of accuracy and price point I've been waiting for. And the fact it's UK designed & made and uses AgOpenGPS makes me think backup and support should be good, which is what worries me about the cheapish Chinese options.

No end of agopengps users already, me included and it's bloody brilliant.
Will certainly give the main brands a run for there money. Will go as far to say it's probably one of the best gps systems I've used and the backup is far infront of them all.
Can easily be put together yourself aswell reducing the cost to half that price quite easily. Plenty of forum members using it aswell.
Weather other manufacturers cotton on to this and make it more difficult like john deere to use 3rd party gps on there tractors

Hundreds of people using AgOpenGPS in the UK.

I can't be to far from you, I'm right on the Northants/Rutland border, you're welcome to pop over to have a go here if you want to see it in action.

Video below is using a retro fitted 'Baraki' hydraulic valve

Can easily do section control on a sprayer or drill as well.

In the video, after autosteering the headland boundary, chose the first tramline to start and the whole field there after driven and sprayed autonomously. Didn't need to touch the steering wheel or sprayer controls (I was on watch to adjust boom height if required, sprayer to old for auto height control!).

Charles is on the forum @cquick his kit would be infinitely superior to the cheap Chinese offerings.

Hello, it's me :)
I set up CSEQ to take AgOpenGPS from a project to a product, as well as to work on a few other engineering projects separate to the farm.

It started as just myself, but as of last month I've taken on a good friend of mine as a business partner - He's worked at various space/satellite startups but has tired of the hype in that sector, and now just wants to build actual stuff that's useful to people.

3k I'm aware is on the high end for an AgOpen system, but I hope my users will appreciate the build quality, backup, ease of installation and it will come with a decent user manual, which I think is a major stumbling block for many new users of AgOpen, especially as we start to sell less to early adopters and more into the mainstream.
Also all my systems are either hydraulic or Canbus - no bulky steering wheel motors hitting your knees!

There's currently a farmer testing its FETF elegibility, which would bring the price down into 'impulse buy' territory.

I've also developed an extremely cost efficient RTK base station, such that anyone that purchases a Box in a currently un-covered area will be offered use of a free base station and free signal to go with it. Once an area is covered I charge £120/yr for a signal, either for one of my boxes, or any third-party terminal.

In all I'm really looking forward to putting the cat amongst the pigeons in the UK GPS sector and I hope I've inspired confidence in some of you to come along for the ride!
I am awaiting a shipment of hydraulic valves, which unfortunately delays the launch of my hydraulic variant, but I hope to start offering Canbus systems far and wide very soon.

I wonder if one of the biggest advantages AgOpenGPS has over all the others is actually communication and the short direct link between so many users and those developing it.

Pretty much everyone working on the software uses it regularly and users can communicate directly with those developing it.

Commercial companies can be rather variable on how well feedback works. It's software developed for governments and non commercial organisations that are typically the polar opposite and the lack of feedback shows.
