Plenty of other consultations have been on going.

Tb
Animal transportation
Beavers reintroduction

But they don't affect large scale arable farmers with a chip on their shoulder......and an axe to grind!

Actually - I am now speaking to Defra teams directly and they now know the service is available for us to push any of their consultations.

The main issue is the number of people at Defra and them knowing to ask me for help.

We are working with them on Animal Transportation as well at the moment.

Just another avenue of media to use.

Do you really think they will listen?

Keeps you in a job I suppose 🙄

At least DEFRA via TFF are trying to raise awareness of this consultation.
Having spoken to Tim Mordan of DEFRA last week I raised the point that the NFU and AHDB have been notably quite on this consultation (and in respect to the NFU especially compared to their previous promotion of the animal transport and TB consultations), choosing to mainly push the AHDB’s own internal consultation, over and above the DEFRA consultation. He acknowledged that coverage and engagement with farmers could have been better and stated that DEFRA would attempt to increase engagement themselves. I assume the PM to TFF members was part of this.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
