Docks, Rushes and Buttercup - how to kill

Got 10ac with lots of small docks, rushes and buttercup.
Got enough Hurler to do the field - but what about the buttercup and the rushes? Will the Hurler kill them too?

not for rushes they will need mcpa and its a job thats growth stage sensitive as well.
depends on your priority weed to kill i guess

2.5 litres of mcpa plus 1.25 litres of hurler per hectare mixed is all I ever use on grassland. Very good long term kill if applied at the correct time.

All of them! Did a bit along the edges today with the knapsack but it's too much, will have to get someone in with a boom sprayer

I had a buttercup problem.
I went out with the strimmer and cut their runners. That was five years ago and they haven’t come back
Next problem is bristly ox tongue

Don’t bother with the clover seed for a very long time if you do apply Hurler. It hangs around enough to stop clover establishing for a good while, by which time you’ll likely have more seedling docks coming up…

About 50:50 depending on the concentration of each.

As an example, Agrigem supply Depitox (500g/l) 2,4-D and Agritox 500g/l MCPA.

Their combined product - Polo, contains 360g/l 2.4-D plus 315g/l MCPA.

Search 'Agrigem Herbicides'.

I'm not sure that the addition of 2,4-D will give a better control of rushes than MCPA alone, but it will be well worth including for creeping thistle, nettles and docks. I see from the labels that Agritox (MCPA) should not be applied by knapsack sprayer, although it doesn't explain why.

field is 4.66 ha, I'll ditch the knapsack for this one

Mcpa @ 4l ha will sort out the rushes

I've got Agritox and Depitox...

I have used 1 litre to the acre of each plus a wetter with great success

With rushes the first kill is always the best kill so don't miss them. Full rate of everything including a wetter and don't scrimp on the water.
