Romania is well worth a visit. I travelled from the South to the North. Seen lots of areas of grain. Cows grazing looked after by a man so they wouldnt stray into the crops. That huge island farm in the middle of the danube. 60k ha. Good wine near Moldovan border.
Transval area. Must return.
Yes, but only cashbuyers for land

I was informed we weren't moving. So I had a brief stay; lots of adventure; saw lots of the countryside. Lots of space. Squeezed more people than I thought possible in a small car and drove some awful roads.
Well, even now trains are very slow :)) It's cheap to travel by train but they are very slow and they often have delays. The roads are still bad because they are made with less materials or low quality ones. Here, corruption is at a high level and most contruction companies bribe the ones in charge to win contracts. To be honest, only the private sector works in this country, infrastructure, medical care and all other government administred institutions are poorly managed and eat money from the private sector as a dark hole. We are so lucky we go those european funds, without them Romania would be nothing.

Me, and many other crop farmers have problems with the shepards who have sheepfolds. They often trample the crops intentionally, or grazes abusevily despite that they have rented grassland from the village hall. In the daylight they harvest our corn in bags and in the night they come and steall it :). The worst thing is that they are protected by the mayor, can you believe that?! A mayor and the chief police to compromise for some cheese and some mutton.

I've always travelled by train. That journey I had begun in Brno, cz, and travelled all the way by train. I arrived at alba iulia with no lei, and knowing about six words of Romanian.

Here are a couple of pics from my friends grandparents farm in the hills near piatra neamt. It was here I learnt how to make Cherry brandy using a bucket.

Very difficult for you. Will it ever change. Company farms are seen as fair game. English farmer we spoke to had trouble with his employees doing hire work with his equipment when they were supposed to be working on his land.
Also stealing diesel from the tractors.

I'm already missing the spring, when everything is green :)
I found some videos from last year and made this montage, I hope you'll like it.
This is my first father's first tractor - the allmighty u445 - well known all over the world.
....and some cheap polish rotary mower

Thank you for continuing to share on this thread. I am always interested to see farming from around the world

How profitable is farming there as a full time job? Can an average sized crop farmer support a family?
Hello. It's profitable, depends on the size of it. Depends what do you mean by "average sized", but I think it is. There are many small farms in Romania and many own small households and live decent.
