Front slurry tank

Does anybody here have any experience with front slurry tanks doing umbilical so not spreading the headlands when turning
as got a customer not wanting any spread on headlands due to over spreading. I know WOX do one but just wondered if anything else on the market or how good they are. Cheers

Yes it all depends on what flow you have , on small low flow they are ok high flow rates a waste of time , what are you using to spread with ?
We use section control and it works very well

At the moment we are spreading with a 16m Mastek and flow is about 150m3 an hour may be looking to go to 32m
they are looking for us to miss the headland out and spray with liquid fert instead
on section control is it just over applying on the open ones though
most of the fields are over 50 acres so cant see what the problem is really but you can notice a bit what has had more and what hasnt

Going to 32 meters will need more flow to make it work right so unless you buy a verdo or something like that a front tank will not work

In growing corn you would lose alot of yeild if you had to dial back the n on the whole headland and overdose it in pgr to keep the corn standing, I get grumbled at for any headland overlaps while spreading sludge due to flat spots evething is on the limits these days.

I've grown corn on land used as a dumping ground for slurry before. It can be managed. Dial back the N applications if they are that concerned. Nothing sensible PGR programmes can't sort.
Its all changed now in the past no one worried they were just getting rid of it now they all want it on precise and I can see the difference on the headland where we over lap a bit and where it hasnt but dont want to invest if it doesnt work

I'm not in favour of dumping on slurry but do think we need to be realistic about how potent slurry is and the fact that a bit of overlap during turning it as good as it gets.

If it really that big an issue I would reduce the overall application rate on the whole field. Adding complexity to the situation is not a route I would like to go down as there won't be much tangible gain.
The gain would be less units of liquid fert N to be purchased and applied, very limited liquid N available going forward, this isn't a normal year. 👍

We are going to 5” after Christmas,I don’t really want to see 4” ever again after that 😂
a few hunderd meters of 4" at the end of the 6 & 5 is ok but it slows the flow a good bit , but if we need that bit extra hose then it is there as it is worth nothing to sell & is like new , so nice reelers & hose in RC Bakers sale
