Thank you, from both me and Muleman. If I can help somebody, as I go..............🎶
No, thank you 😍
Tonight she came to the bottle and supped like a proper pet lamb. I've been feeding her mate, then wrestling with her using the same bottle.
Tomorrow I'm going double barrelled......2 bottles, 2 teats, 2 lambs.......more than halving feeding time 😊

I think it is essential to get new borns on the bottle as soon as possible. Tubing gets you out of a bind at 3am when it's all going pear shaped and there are 2 more with hung lambs and 1 with a leg back but I think they need to suck very early or they forget what nature programmed them to do.
If you're taking trip's off and into a holding pen waiting for a single try to find 5 minutes to give it a bottle rather than pour 120ml down a tube.
Don't ask me what the secret is for 3 week old lambs....they are worse than an emo for wanting to pine away.
Sorry disagree.

If you think you can foster a lamb in a few hours use the tube. A new born lamb imprints very quickly & if you bottle feed it will go for you not the foster Mum, especially if she kicks.

I do bottle hogg twins asap with a mix of artifical & colustrum from the hogg. The little beggars learn to drink from one side only very quickly. I try to remove them from the hogg at 4 to 6 hours of age. With triplets on a ewe, I tend to let them have 24 hours with the ewe.

I've had very mixed results leaving hogg twins on, much rather rear one & know that all three should grow into healthy strong animals.

Sometimes you get a lamb that just will not suck.
Tapped one on the head recently that my wife, who has the patience of Job, had been nurturing for nearly a month. Bottles, catheter just enough to keep it alive, all to no avail. Went out one morning to find it laid out.
Probably for the best, can't help something that won't help itself.
