As a party member I get the chance to vote for the next leader , I say leader but I don't think either could lead a thirsty horse to water!,
I've not heard either of them talk about agriculture or care for the elderly which is becoming a big issue in society .
I struggle to see Shitup being any good for the job or the AlbaTruss coming up with any PM qualities .

What do I do 🤷‍♂️
I've registered to go to a hustling in Cheltenham but I think it's gonna be a waste of time because it's sounds like it is going to be very heavily 'stage managed ' .....so probably won't waste my time !

My daughter caught the train from Kings Cross to Grantham Saturday morning. As she left Grantham station she noticed a few Black Range Rovers and men in black suits with ear peices. She didn't think to much of it. But later in the day she saw an elderly lady in the village who reported she had just come back from town where she had attended the Conservative hustings in Grantham. I did wonder if Rishi had caught the train and had sent his armed security up the A1 to meet him. If so just the sort of usual politician trick to look as thought they are 'one of the people'. Haven't forgot Cameron cycling to Westminster with a armed escort in tow. Or Johnson similar. Appreciate these folk need security but hate the falseness of it. Hey ho..

Our immediate future is in your hands then.
Please choose wisely.

Genuine Q, what are the benefits of party membership beyond choosing a leader?
Please choose wisely .......that's a big challenge😩😩

Was a Tory Cllr for 14 yrs which required membership but previously worked for the Tory party in an advisory capacity (when William Hague was leader)

In the past party membership gave you a greater say in defining the direction of the party but in the last decade or so that has eroded and the MPs appear to be calling the shots ( in an attempt to secure their futures!)

I believe the party leader should be a 'member vote' from day one and the MPs should not have the opportunity to 'get rid' of the ones that just might not offer them a position in the GVT which is what has happened here !

You have got to choose Sunak surely ! Truss would be an absolute disaster...................................or bring back William Hague.

The party members need to think beyond the next two years. They're going to struggle at the next election, but they'll at least have a chance with Sunak.
Otherwise they'll be sailing into oblivion with Liz doing her best Kate Winslet impersonation on the bow.

It's one thing to be photographed on a farm ...it's a completely different thing to come out and say what your opinion of British Ag is ....or how your particular GVT will or will not support it 🤷‍♂️

It will be behind a paywall but local tory farmers in Sunak's Richmond constituency are very much in favour of him ....

or here not behind a paywall

or from his own webpage

Haha, I was not trying to influence HC in any way. Not my privilege to do so.

I had to smile at the comment attributed to Boris that he would not endorse any particular candidate over another ' whoever she may be ' .

Or Corbyn saying he couldnt get a seat on a train which was shown not to be true, all these politicians are pretty stupid, boris was condemned a few weeks ago for flying back from cornwall and not driving, sometimes the media just want to create a story

What’s wrong with flying back?
