People like that will know the score and Ferrari and co do international car collection all time. I knew a guy who shipped his cars back to Italy for servicing and big upgrades- he had a house there anyway so it was no big deal to him.

Probably, although these were banking bonus cars from 2007. I suspect they’d not have them now....

If you should need an air ambulance while abroad you can be presented with a stonking great and unforeseen medical bill. You would have to have saved a hell of a lot of money to pay for it.

A 30k morning but full insurance isavailable anyway 🤷‍♂️

There will always be the very rare extreme exception.
Blowed if I would start to waste cash on insurance premiums based on such an example.
As you can imagine, I’ve had this discussion a few times over the last 40 years.
I have one simple argument - insurance companies are companies who make a profit (after vast admin costs), not charities - so, who is the winner?

I would say Insurance companies must be very good in suckering people in thinking one is the other, to be able to turn a profit (after vast admin costs)

I disagree. Everyone has different attitude to risk and different hazard tolerance.

Admin costs aren’t that vast either, compared to risks managed - if they were then others would enter the market and undercut them - that’s how capitalism works. And if you think they are really profitable, why not buy shares in them and have part of the dividend? Again, that’s capitalism!

Most of the large corporations only insure for public and employers liability and vehicles. In other words where legally obliged to do so.

I prefer to continue to invest in my own business.
Maybe I think that is really profitable too (y)
