I know keltec cuts up and Tanco down but just wondering which is stronger or better and will either cut through half dry unchopped haylage?
Tried a s/h keltec and wouldn't cut suspect ram seals but wondered if ram seals were replaced would cope with drier stuff. Sales blurb claims it'll cut strawOur keltec cuts through very dry chopped hay ledge no problem. Good plastic retention too but is heavier and bigger than the tanco. I would only use a keltec in our sheds
Did you try any other models to see of there was any difference in plastic lossHave to say we sold out tanco, just lost the plastic or net into the diet feeder too many times. Tried for two months but just couldn’t hold the plastic 100%, tried all sorts of ways and spoke to a few users but in the end had to admit defeat and changed it for a big grab that lifts the whole bale into the feeder.
No we didntDid you try any other models to see of there was any difference in plastic loss
Take it from me, it takes some fishing outWe had a tanco on demo and it was OK but no way would I be dropping bales directly into a mixer wagon with it the plastic holding device wasn't reliable enough.
Yeah it was definitely quicker just stripping the bales then dropping them in with the muck grabTake it from me, it takes some fishing out
Don’t know what they cut like, but cashel have a different idea on the film holding compared to tanco

Not really, you retain about 75% of the bale, or at least you do with dryish bales. Can you drop half of in one shed then take what’s left to another shed for small pens?
